✓ Learned

Pick any skill and get a plan you can follow. AI builds the lessons, pairs each one with a YouTube video and a short quiz, and a dashboard tracks your progress, streak and scores. My very first experiment with Claude.

Key learning

A new box of crayons: you only find out what colors are inside, and when to reach for which, by drawing. A polished interface told me nothing about whether anything underneath worked.

Baby is a Go
● Live

Share your baby news beautifully, and never lose a reply. Compose once with personalization, send everyone their own private message via SMS or email, then manage all replies in one unified inbox. No group threads. No number-sharing.

Key learning

Building for a single emotional moment (not a recurring use case) changes everything about what "done" means. The demo mode (zero credentials needed) was the unlock for sharing it widely.

Budget Analysis Tool
● Live

A personal finance dashboard that turns a bank export into a clear picture of your money. Two views: a summary with KPIs and category breakdowns, and a drill-down explorer to interrogate individual transactions.

Key learning

Financial data is personal and messy. The design work is in finding the right level of abstraction: enough signal, none of the anxiety of a raw spreadsheet.

Ant.cat
● Live

The site itself as an experiment. A personal website alive since 2008, rebuilt in Astro, made measurably better in an afternoon (faster loads, snappier animations, a cleaner footer, one overdue nav label change).

Key learning

The thing that makes something better is almost never the idea. Making the decision to actually do it is. A 10MB homepage becomes sub-1MB when you stop meaning to fix it and just fix it.

○ Building

A radio station built from every band on every bill near you. Pick a place, a radius and a date range, and hear 30 seconds of each act, openers included, so you know what a band sounds like before you buy the ticket.

Key learning

The listing data is the product. Two ticketing sites can describe the same night at the same room in ways that do not match, and openers (the whole point) are missing from most listings.
